Where is the best place to put up a bird bath?

I have a nice back yard and a big front yard but not a whole lot of flowers as of yet. But I was curious as to where I should put my bird bath so that the birds would use it often. Under trees, near lots of flowers or any where. Do they need shade when bathing? Can it be under the trees? Where is the best place? Thank you to all who can answer this question. Have a blessed day everyone!

Definitely in the backyard. It doesn’t have to be under trees though..the birds will find it.

I’ve got 2 in my backyard and had no problems with birds finding them. In fact, too many have found them & they fight over them. I have to change the water regularly…you’ll know why after they find it. ;-)

The main thing is to keep the bird bath near the bird feeder. Birds get thirsty and want water to drink after they eat. Having some trees or bushes around is a big plus so they can easily escape from predators.

You want to put the bird bath somewhere where the birds can get to cover quickly. After bathing, the birds have a bit of trouble flying quickly and it is ideal for them to have trees or bushes nearby to hide in if a predator should pop out suddenly. It will make them feel more secure.
