Can you cause the death of a wild bird by providing bird-bath water in sub-freezing weather?

It occurs to me that nature prevents bird from covering themselves with water in sub-freezing temps, by making most available water solid and unusable.

If the bird use the bird-bath, will they fly away and slowly freeze their wings, etc. ???

Any suggestions for a caulk-like substance to be used for 3 tier birdbath stabalization?

I recently bought a multi-tier bird bath made of concrete for my backyard.

I was certain (100%) that the base and main dish were level. What I found was the other tier sections have unlevel bottoms.

I am looking for stabalizing material – like caulk – to both level the sections and stabalize them if I can get them totally perfect.

The material I am looking for is similar or the same as the type of material that monument companies use to attach marble or metal vases to monuments in cemetary locations. (Sounds gross I know, but it must work because EVERY monument seems to use the same stuff.)

Today I checked with Lowes, Namco, and Leslie Pool but none of them had any answers or were very helpful. Can you tell me what I need to do? Do I have to cure it first; with what? What type of paint do I use? Thanks in advance!

Preventing birdbath freezing in winter–need ideas?

Have birdbath; want water in it for the winter. Live in MD; expect freezing weather at some point. DON’T TRUST electricity and water together much, esp. outside—it’s a silly quirk. Anybody ever use a solar or battery operated heater and can give feedback?

Suggestions on how to keep my wild birds (and squirrels) happy? The bath is fairly near the front door, and won’t mind doing some fresh water regularly (or even adding some hot water), but am looking for fairly easy and not TOO costly ideas. Thanks!
