Need info on cleaning bird baths. Any household products that can be used that wont harm the birds?

I saw a feature on Good Day Wisconsin that focused on cleaning bird baths but forgot what they recommended.
Use vinegar. I used to have pet birds and that was all I ever used to clean their cages. I have heard that you can use salt water too, but I never did.
I usually hose out the bath with some high pressure water. If it is really nasty, i move it and put in some bleach for an hour and then hose it out real good before returning it to the garden. I have also tried oxyclean which seems to work also, but I have not used it but 2 times, so I don’t have much cleaning history with it.
put soap in the water , and when the birds flap their wings , they are cleaning it for you , and theyre getting squeeky clean
Birds are animals. Animals have their ways and do not need household detergents. If you think they do then you have fallen prey to mass market advertising. If you need to clean out the scum and algae, why not just take a wire brush and scrub it out and rinse it out with pressure from the hose? It’s probably all they need.
By the way, this is why cats will seem to prefer drinking out of muddy puddles because thay cannot stand the smell of the soap and cleaners that are left when you fill their squeaky-clean water bowl. The muddy water is much more tasty to them that the human-concept-of-clean that is their water bowl.
Animals hate soap.
Vinegar works best for cleaning up lime an calcium build up and is safe for animals.
