BIRD BATHS !! PLEASE ANSWER.?

I have a bird bath that is not coated. When I put water in it, the bird bath seem to absorb the water. What can I coat or paint it with. Something that won’t hurt the birds.

Difficult question. About the only thing you can do is paint it to seal it. You can try painting it with fiberglass or cement paint. No matter what the can says or what the paint people tell you it will not hold up under the water very long. We tried everything. Your best bet is keep it filled the best you can or try lining it with plastic which probably wont stay in place. Turn it into a birdfeeder or planter and get a cheap plastic birdbath.
